than 10 years after the terrorist attacks on Sept.11,some airline
travelers are still carrying items into airports that are considered a
danger to the flying public and are being confiscated by the
Transportation Security Administration.Many of those items are on sale in Harrisburg and online.Handguns
and commercial-grade fireworks are not for sale,such as those found by
TSA employees on two men last week at Philadelphia International
Airport,but a state surplus distribution center on Forster Street is
offering thousands of other items taken from or surrendered by
passengers in the Mid-Atlantic region in the last year."An
assortment of box cutters,Gerber knives,multitools,Leatherman's
knives,we see it all,"said Troy Thompson of the Department of General
Services.Those
items represent a fraction of what is for sale,Thompson said.Some
unusual items passengers tried to board planes with include a meat
cleaver and a rolling pin.things confiscated include baskets of tools,
