In news of airport security this week,the Transportation Security
Administration has opened up a PreCheck lane at another airport; the
private-sector Clear trusted traveler program adds a fifth airport to
its roster;and TSA is reportedly switching out its body scanning
equipment at several key facilities.TSA said it has introduced its PreCheck expedited security
screening option at Honolulu International Airport.The new PreCheck
lane at HNL’s Checkpoint 3 is available to participating members of the
loyalty programs of American,Delta,United,US Airways and Alaska
Airlines,as well as to members of Customs and Border Protection trusted
traveler plans like Global Entry. Participants are identified to
security personnel by a special code in their boarding pass. Meanwhile,the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel is reporting that TSA expects to
introduce PreCheck to Ft.Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in
mid-December.
