It will be difficult, but not impossible.Keep in mind that my
idea of affordable may be way too high for you. Depending on where you
want to live, rents are moderate to ridiculous.Studios (less than 500
sq ft) in Waikiki go for $1500/month,utilities not included.Regular
gas has just gone down to $3.999/gal.Used car prices are higher than
Mainland because there's a good market for them, there's a lot of "old
lady just used it for Church and marketing"cars - true story.Back in
'06,I bought an '02 Lexus with only 17,000 miles on it.Food is
higher. We get by by shopping warehouse stores (Sam's,Costco) and the
bargain bin in the market (which, lately, has been getting shopped by
more people).Bargains can also be had at smaller local chain stores,mom-and-pop stores, Chinatown, and the local flea market. So,enough
about the gloomy outlook. On 32K,you need a roommate. Depending on how far away you live from
the airport, biking or public trans may be an option. If not, motorcycle,or small economy car.Learn to eat cheap.Steak is a
luxury.
